Panic Disorder: initiate with 0.50 mg given three times a day; an increase at intervals of 3-4 days. The average daily dosage ranges between 6-10 mg. Do not exceed more than 10 mg per day.
Geriatric Patients: initiate with 0.25 mg given two to three times a day; increase gradually only if needed and tolerated.
Pediatric Patients: Xanax is not recommendable for patients below 18 years of age.
