What is a Xanax Bar?

Xanax is a benzodiazepine. Xanax treats generalized anxiety disorder. Xanax enhances a chemical called GABA in the brain, which helps to calm the mind and relax the nervous system. An individual who has taken the xanax bar will feel relaxed within half an hour. Xanax bars are small tablets in the size of pills. They are also called zanies and planks.

How to use Xanax bars?

We split xanax bars into quarters, which we take separately. The xanax bars are 2 mg per dose. You can break up a bar into 4 bars of 0.5 mg or 2 bars of 1 mg. There can be smaller doses of 0.5 mg and 0.25 mg also.

How to inject Xanax bars?

Xanax is usually not taken as an injection. Despite this, sometimes people tend to snort it or inject the crushed tablets to get a more intense effect. Xanax, when taken alone, can give these severe effects, but you mix xanax with other substances. These other substances include opioids.

Xanax bars side effects?

Xanax bars give several side effects like;

  • Drowsiness
  • Irritability
  • Low blood pressure
  • Lightheartedness or dizziness
  • Blurred vision
  • Incoordination
  • Slurred speech
  • Weight changes

There can be very severe side effects like;

  • Oversedation

Xanax can increase the side effects of other drugs. For instance, opioids give a risk of respiratory depression. If you take xanax along with opioids, then you get an increased risk of the same depression.

People try to dissolve xanax in alcohol as it is not soluble in water. On injection, then we can get the following problems.

Infection – If the use of needles and syringes is without precaution, then we may have infections at injection sites. These infections may become acute. They may spread throughout the body and require a doctor’s intervention as the disease may become critical.

HIV Infection– We may be in danger of having the Human Immunodeficiency Virus, which can later lead to AIDS.

Sudden Overdose-when injected xanax, instantly enters the bloodstream. We are at grave risk of accidental overdose, and this immediate overdose can kill.

Precautions of Xanax bars?

  • You do not use Xanax in the following circumstances

  • If you also take itraconazole or ketoconazole

If you are allergic to xanax or other medicines like benzodiazepine, Chlordiazepoxide (Librium), clonazepam (Klonopin), clorazepate (Tranxene), diazepam (valium), lorazepam (Ativan), or oxazepam (Serax).

Before taking xanax, you should inform your doctor if you have

  • Seizures or epilepsy
  • Kidney or liver disease
  • Asthma or some other breathing disorder
  • Open-angle glaucoma
  • A history of depression or suicidal thoughts
  • A history of alcohol addiction
  • If you use opioids.

Another point to consider over here is that you do not use xanax bars if a lady is pregnant. The baby born could be dependent on the drug. Again the medicine can cause withdrawal symptoms in a baby, and these can become life-threatening. The baby may require medical treatment for this as the medication is habit-forming.
