What is Roxicodone?
Roxicodone is an opioid analgesic containing oxycodone hydrochloride USP. It comes in the form of round-shaped pre-scored tablets available in the strengths of 5mg, 15mg, and 30mg of oxycodone HCI.
Roxicodone is a derivative of opium alkaloid, thebaine. The tablets contain inactive ingredients- sodium starch glycolate, microcrystalline cellulose, corn starch, stearic acid, lactose, and color additives (D&C Yellow No. 10 in 15mg tablet and FD&C Blue No. 2 in 30mg tablet).
What is the use of Roxicodone?
Buy Roxicodone online as an immediate-release oral formulation of oxycodone hydrochloride for the treatment of moderate to severe acute and chronic pain. Roxicodone helps treat pain where the use of an opioid analgesic is required and appropriate.
How is it used?
Take the doses as directed. Doctors individualize the doses based upon the patient’s response, tolerance, and severity of pain.
Initiate the dosage with 5mg to 15mg given every 4-6 hours for the patients not receiving any opioids. Carefully titrate the doses according to the response and tolerance of individual patients.
Give around the clock dosage to the patients suffering from chronic pain.
Conversion from opioids:
For the patients receiving opioid treatment, a potency of prior opioid, and degree of tolerance of the patient are critical factors. Schedule Roxicodone dosage according to these factors.
Gradually reduce the dosages when a patient no longer requires treatment from Roxicodone to prevent withdrawal symptoms. Decrease the doses by 25% to 50% per day, monitoring the signs of withdrawal. If withdrawal symptoms appear, raise doses to the previous level and start decreasing more slowly. The symptoms of Roxicodone withdrawal include restlessness, perspiration, anxiety, backache, fatigue, abdominal cramps, insomnia, nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, and hypotension.
What are the common side effects of Roxicodone?
The most common side effects of Roxicodone include:
- Dry mouth
- Skin rashes
- Urinary retention
- Decreased appetite
Contraindications of Roxicodone
Roxicodone contraindicated in patients with:

Re-establish the patient’s airway in case of overdose and employ supportive measures, including oxygen and vasopressors, for management of pulmonary edema and circulatory shock. Take the overdosed patient immediately to a hospital.
